HAIL DAMAGED ROOF REPAIR PROCESS

INSPECT
The first step in fixing your hail damaged roof is to find the damage spot(s). It is not uncommon to find multiple damaged areas or other potential future leaks. We check for any damage to the roof itself as well as any of the insulation or membranes below the surface.
CLEAN AND PREP
No repair can be made until the target area(s) are cut out, cleaned and inspected. Our team will thoroughly prep the surface to accept the repair - clearing away any debris that could cause future leaks or poor adhesion. Prior to coating, we will check and seal seams. On metal, this includes tightening loose fasteners, replacing them and adding if necessary.
REPAIR
Critical areas such as flashings, HVAC units, curbs, stacks and vents are treated with a thick mastic. All seams and fasteners are sealed and a special reinforcing membrane is applied where extra strength is needed.

Bituminous roofs often benefit by first applying an appropriate primer. This is usually spray applied using a low-pressure sprayer. On smaller roofs, this is done with a pump-up sprayer carried by the applicator. Some metal coatings, such as those containing water, will require a primer if the desire is to prevent rust.
SEALING THE ROOF
The methods of sealing a hail damaged roof depend on the type of roof you have. Our team will repair the damage based on the manufacturers guidelines and specs to ensure proper sealing.

Fix or Replace?

Most people think that they have to replace their hail damaged roof. However, in most cases, the best option is to simply fix the damaged area. Our trained inspectors will provide you with an estimate to get it fixed. Fixing a hail damaged roof is substantially cheaper, more efficient and less impactful on the environment than replacing the roof.

There are some situations where the roof is beyond repair. While uncommon, if the roof is structurally unsound or it is cost-prohibitive to fix the damage, a new roof is the only option.
